When the 2026 deadlines arrive<\/h2>\n

Christmas Day 2026 falls on a Friday. That\u2019s more significant than it sounds: it shortens the final week, because the last full business days before the holiday are Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24th. There\u2019s no quiet Monday to catch up on.<\/p>\n

These are estimated delivery times, not published dates. Please check your carrier\u2019s official holiday page once it\u2019s available, and keep in mind that cutoff times vary by origin and destination zone\u2014a Zone 8 shipment must be shipped days earlier than a Zone 2 shipment.<\/p>\n

What Missing a Deadline Actually Costs<\/h2>\n

The service-level increase is only part of the bill. Peak-season surcharges are added on top, and they're higher this year than last.<\/p>\n

For the 2026 peak, the flat per-package demand surcharge for ground residential service rose from $0.60 to $0.75 \u2014 a 25% increase \u2014 while the air demand fee rose from $2.05 to $2.50, up roughly 22%. Residential delivery demand charges can range from about $1.55 per package to $8.75 per package, depending on the volume tier and the week.
